Snapshot from Lausanne, Switzerland, incentive
Breakfast in the warm June sunshine, lunch in the snow – we soared to the summit of the Alps vaudoises to race husky dogs around a snow track, stepped across the void at an altitude of 3,000 metres on the Peak Walk and zipped down the Alpine Coaster – the highest toboggan run in the world!
why?
Voted “Best Small City in the World”. Lausanne rises elegantly above the north shore of Lake Geneva. High bridges span the gorges of two rivers that once cut through the city, creating a destination both dramatic and scenic with views of the Savoy Alps across the lake.
where?
The Royal Savoy Hotel with panoramic Sky Lounge Rooftop Bar, LAUSANNE.
“We had an amazing time in Lausanne and met so many lovely people. It was definitely a lifetime experience. Everything was so well organised!”
what?
A foot-friendly city with a funicular train linking mid-town (great for shopping, cafes and bars) and the historic La Cité old town. We clambered up to the belfry for spectacular views. The region is famous for its wine (cue the wine tasting in the UNESCO protected vineyards), cheese (fondue-school anyone?) and chocolate (we created our own chocolate bars, naturally) and we closed the show with an Olympic-themed gala dinner at the Olympic Museum.
